Aliens 30th Anniversary Blu-ray Set Coming in September
Aliens director James Cameron must have had balls the size of watermelons when he chose to direct the sequel to the original smash hit "Alien". Ridley Scott's trailblazing “haunted house in space” sci-fi horror masterpiece really was a tough act to follow.
But Cameron, hot off the success of The Terminator, did a fantastic job. Rather than simply imitating the first film, he opted to take the mythology set down by Scott and build upon it, taking Aliens in a more action orientated direction.
And yesterday, 20th Century Fox announced the ultimate tribute to Cameron's sci-fi classic: a 30th
Anniversary Limited-Edition Set that includes TWO cuts of the film; the Theatrical cut and a Special Edition. As well as the cuts, the set included audio commentary, deleted and extended scenes and much more.
It also includes a book of concept art, from the Dark Horse comic series complete with an exclusive cover created especially for the 30th Anniversary set. Also included in both the Blu-Ray and digital releases will be a brand new documentary entitled "The Inspiration and Design of Aliens” which promises to delve deep into origins of the film.
